What is RECA?

The Responsible Energy Codes Alliance is a consortium of energy efficiency professionals, product and equipment manufacturers, and trade associations. RECA works to improve the energy efficiency of homes through greater use of energy efficient practices and building products. It is administered by the Alliance to Save Energy. RECA’s primary objective is to support and urge all states and local jurisdictions to adopt and implement the most recent International Energy Conservation Code®, without substantive local weakening amendments.


What is the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC)®?

The International Energy Conservation Code® (IECC®) is a model building energy code produced by the International Code Council® as part of its building code series. For more information on the IECC®, click here.

What do I do if I am interested in joining RECA?

Organizations that share RECA’s objectives and principles may be eligible to participate as a member of the Responsible Energy Codes Alliance.
